TRANSATLANTYK PRO

TRANSATLANTYK PRO

The meetings will take place between 1 and 8 October in Katowice, each will last about 45 minutes.

Transatlantyk Festival invites young directors and film producers to take part in consultations about international festival strategies.

Many directors and film producers dream of sailing into international waters. Not all cruises can begin in Cannes, Berlin, or Venice – sometimes it is even better to screen a film on a smaller festival, such as the ones in Cottbus, Tallin, or Thessaloniki. Why is it better? The answer to this question, and setting a good festival path at the same time, is not an easy task to do, especially when the map of film events keeps changing – some lose significance, others gain it, for instance due to a change in the programme profile or new management.

How to choose festivals from outside the “big trio”? In the programme of which film events is it worth being included? How to spark up an interest in your film among a given event’s programmer, where can you find them and do you always have to rely on the sales agent’s opinion (provided you have managed to build cooperation with one)?

This and other nuances of the world of international festivals will be covered by the Programme Director of the Transatlantyk Festival – Joanna Łapińska, and the Programmer and Industry Events Coordinator of the Transatlantyk Festival – Ola Salwa.

The meetings will be held as individual consultations during which you can talk about the possibilities and opportunities of international screenings for individual films.

The consultations are free of charge.

Note: The number of participants is limited.

Applications with a film description and possible queries should be submitted to Joanna Łapińska at [email protected]
