About

A popular actress Chris MacNeil is living together with her twelve-year-old daughter Regan in Georgetown. After one of their plays with an Ouija board which serves to perform spiritistic sessions, the girl’s behaviour undergoes a change. Regan starts to use offensive language and demonstrates superhuman strength. Her mother turns to doctors for help but the tests do not produce the desired results and supernatural events in her daughter’s surroundings escalate.

A classic horror film awarded with four Golden Globes (including one for the best drama) and two Oscars (nominated in 10 categories). The making of the film can be seen in Alexandre O. Philippe’s “Leap of Faith: William Friedkin on The Exorcist”, which is included in our this-year  programme.

You are also invited to participate in a Masterclass with William Friedkin on 7 October at 19:00 on the Transatlantyk Facebook profile.
