Wiesław Zdort

Wiesław Zdort graduated from Direction of Photography of the Lodz Film School. He has cooperated with Jerzy Lipman and Wójcik. He is also the author of stills for Andrzej Wajda’s Ashes and Diamonds. Wiesław Zdort debuted as a cinematographer for Tarpany directed by Kazimierz Kutz (1961). Since 1987, he has worked as a lecturer on the Direction of Photography Faculty in the Lodz Film School.  He has been awarded for cinematography on the Łagów festival two times (Sól Ziemi Czarnej dir. Kazimierz Kutz and Słońce wschodzi raz na dzień dir. Henryk Kluba). He is also a laureate of Polish Film Festival in Gdynia, where he received an award for cinematography for Pokuszenie directed by Barbara Sass. In 2015 he received, along with Kazimierz Kutz, award for a cinematographer – director duet on the International Film Festival  Camerimage in Łódź. Zdort’s workshop is characterized by realism and reporter’s style. His perceptive insight have become the signature trademark of his cinematographic projects.
